British alternative rock band from Corby, Northamptonshire; emerging from the same thriving music scene that produced bands such as Press to Meco, ACODA and Raging Speedhorn. Formed through a shared love for dynamic and emotionally driven music, the band first built a reputation under the name Aurora Sun, blending atmospheric textures with explosive alt-rock energy.

Drawing inspiration from Thrice, Underoath and Arcane Roots, After Self craft delicate ambience and powerful, cathartic heaviness. Their sound is defined by soaring vocals, intricate guitar work, and honest lyricism that seeks to connect on a deeply human level before erupting into raw intensity.

The band gained momentum with the release of their debut EP Unfurled Hearts, earning praise for their emotive songwriting and high-energy live performances. Supporting notable acts including Hawthorne Heights, InMe, Acres and Lastelle, while also touring England alongside Dave McPherson of InMe. Their growing reputation led to airplay on BBC Introducing and the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, helping the band reach audiences beyond their local scene.

The “After Self” is what emerges when everything falls apart; the person reborn from the wreckage, carrying the scars but free from their effects. It’s a story of second chances, transformation and the courage to begin again. Not becoming someone else, but becoming the 'After Self'.
